We have been given guidelines from Cal Ripken officials that will help us once we are allowed to start league activities. We are working to procure sanitizing products on a large scale and plan to utilize these products to eliminate as much cross contamination as possible. We are planning to issue enough equipment to individual teams in order to prevent the sharing of equipment. End of game hand shakes will temporarily be suspended. Positioning of umpires is currently being discussed and developed, and personal protective gear will be made available to umpires. We are also researching options to broadcast games via web camera to our members that have health concerns and are unable to attend live games.
We cannot conduct formal KN practices or games until we reach "phase 3" of our local health officials current guidelines. I understand that these are difficult times for everyone, and I want to be available for discussion. I encourage our league members to contact me directly with any concerns about plans, and I will do my best to answer emails in a timely manner. Please email me directly at President@knyb.org, and we will work through any situation together. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay KN PROUD!
