COVID-19 ~ 2020 Season Update
UpdatedFriday July 10, 2020 by Brandi Cole.
The Board of Directors would like to provide you with some insight into our plan of action in returning to baseball, as well as our current funding levels. While the path of least resistance would be to cancel our season for the first time ever in league history, we have taken the much more difficult road of working toward a modified 2020 baseball season. Plans include, but are not limited to, playing into the Fall season. In order to make this happen we will have liability waivers issued from Cal Ripken baseball, and we are planning to implement strenuous sanitation methods in order to protect all of our members. We will absolutely follow all local health directives to the letter, and ultimately plan to begin on the day we are permitted.
We have been responding to members requests for refunds as quickly as possible, and we appreciate your patience. Generally speaking, opting to not play when the 2020 baseball season is allowed to begin does not justify a refund of registration fees, and we have NOT cancelled the season. In our preparations for opening day, prior to the stay home orders, we had purchased all three upper divisions jerseys. We had also resurfaced all three of our fields to improve the experience, and safety for all of our players. There are many annual fixed expenses such as water, power, and our lawn maintenance contract that also contributed to our current funding level.
The entire board of directors is actively working on contingency plans that get our league compliantly and safely back to playing the game that we all love. Below we have included a link to a financial breakdown of the year, and we will continue to answer information requests as efficiently as possible.
